SSE reaches Battery Project milestone
SSE have partnered with technology group Wärtsilä, to deliver a 50 / 100 MWh energy storage system in Salisbury, Wiltshire. The battery will be the first to be connected directly to the transmission network by SSE’s new solar and battery division. It will support access to clean, reliable energy by balancing the intermittency of renewables.

Gatwick Airport: Net Zero by 2030
Gatwick has announced that it will make net zero a reality for emissions under its control (Scope 1 & 2) by 2030, ten years ahead of the original target of 2040. This will be achieved by investing over £250 million to reduce carbon emissions, such as moving to an electric vehicle fleet and replacing gas boilers and refrigerants with low carbon alternatives.
