London business group names new head

LEADING business group the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry has appointed a senior tech boss as its new president.

Martina King, right, is chief executive of Featurespace, which develops software to counter financial crime, and a former managing director of augmented reality company Aurasma. King, who has worked in London all her career, also had senior roles at Yahoo! Europe and Capital Radio.

She said: "London is the best business city in the world and maintaining its reputation on the world stage as the preeminent global city is more important now than ever. I look forward to working with LCCI to connect, champion and support London's business community and to further its ambition to put Global London at the heart of the new Global Britain."

She said making London a success for business would have ripple effects that will benefit the whole of the UK.
