Permits, Points and Visas – one year on

One year after the publication of LCCI’s Permits, Points and Visas report we hosted a roundtable with LCCI members and special guests to mark the one year anniversary.

With the Mayor of London having cited LCCI’s proposals for a ‘regionalised’ migration system in his recent immigration report, the roundtable was an opportunity for members and guests to discuss progress and developments since publication of the report Permits, Points and Visas – securing practical immigration for post-Brexit London.

Also discussed were the next steps to ensure that the capital gets the flexible immigration system its businesses need.

We were joined by David Arnold from London Councils, Martin Bentham, the Home Affairs Editor at the Evening Standard and Vicky Pryce, Board Director Centre for Economics and Business.

LCCI has called on the Mayor of London to look at drawing-up a template for a dedicated Shortage Occupation List for London - like Scotland already has - and to convene the capital’s civic and business leaders to design a proposal for a future work permit system for our Capital.
