LCCI calls for climate protest disruption to end

Thursday 18 April 2019

Regarding the climate protest on the streets of the capital, David Frost, Chief Executive, London Chamber of Commerce and Industry said:

“London’s transport network, whether buses, the underground or rail, ultimately takes cars off the road and therefore helps lower carbon emissions. Disrupting these modes of transport in order to send a message about climate change seems to very much miss the point.

“It is clear that these continuing protests are having an effect on London’s businesses. It is now time for the authorities to reopen the streets and the demonstrations to end.”
