LCCI reaction to Parliament voting to extend Article 50

Thursday 14 March 2019

London Chamber of Commerce and Industry reacts on the Parliament voting to extend Article 50.

Sean McKee, London Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Director of Policy & Public Affairs said:

“To be of any real use, an extension has to result in Parliament working together to agree a deal that acts as the stepping stone to the next stage of the process – our future trading relationship.

Businesses want to know what the UK’s future trading relationship with the EU will be. It is this that governs the movement of goods, services, staff and the UK’s economic success.

Yet the only certainty right now is the continuation of uncertainty.”
