LCCI statement on April 2023 GDP figures

Wenesday 14 June 2023

Richard Burge, Chief Executive of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI)
said: "Whilst it is good to see a slight uptick in real GDP of 0.2% in April 2023, and growth for pubs and bars which have suffered in recent years, this figure remains well below the level of sustained growth needed to get London's economy back on track.

"The government's job now is to focus on providing long-term solutions - such as guaranteed support with high energy bills and the promotion of high-quality skills training - to ensure London's businesses have the necessary tools to lead the capital and the UK back to growth."
