The London Chamber of Arbitration and Mediation (LCAM)
The London Chamber of Arbitration and Mediation (LCAM) provides efficient and cost effective services to help resolve commercial disputes.
About LCAM
LCAM is part of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry but independent in its administration of disputes. LCAM was launched to provide innovative, speedy, and cost-effective services to help resolve commercial disputes. LCAM offers arbitration, expedited arbitration, and mediation services delivered by a diverse panel with many years’ experience in alternative dispute resolution. LCAM’s Model Mediation Procedure provides a framework for an effective and confidential mediation process. Oversight is provided by the LCAM Advisory Board. Fees are fixed, providing cost-certainty and good value without compromising quality.
Arbitration
Historically, arbitration has found favour with parties owing to the ‘four Es’ of Economy, Efficiency, Expediency and Enforceability. Over time, some of these benefits have arguably become eroded; costs have generally increased, and the speed of resolution has not necessarily remained quick. In designing its services, LCAM has sought to place at the forefront these four E’s and to restore the primary benefits of dispute resolution outside the courts. The straightforward nature of the LCAM Arbitration Rules moves parties steadily through a clear and simple process with a streamlined timetable.
